There are 7 Billion Voices, and I am 1

 

In honor and in memory of one of my mentors, Earl Patrick McNease aka Praverb the Wyse,  who has just recently passed, I have decided to launch a new project called 7Billion, I am 1.  It will officially launch on October 1, 2014. The concept and inspiration comes from my interactions with Praverb while he walked this Earth.  He was an inspiration to so many, not just in the hip hop world, but to creatives from all areas.  He supported what people created as long as it was from the heart.  He encouraged people to follow their passions, to be clear about what matters to them, and to pursue those things regardless of whether or not others understand your vision, stand by you, or support you.  There are 7 Billion voices out there, and it is difficult to get heard in such a crowd.  But, Praverb always found a way to make you feel heard.  So, in that spirit, I begin this project. 7Billion, I am 1 will be a platform for YOU to be heard, here on my website.  I send out an open invitation to ANYONE, from ANYWHERE, and at ANY AGE.  Share your passion with me.  I want to hear what you create.  I want to hear a story you want to share.  A poem.  An essay.  A rap. A song.  An artpiece.  I don't care who you are, we all have something that gives us our voice.  I want you to share it with me and I will post it here and share it via social media with others.    This is a new project and things are still being sorted out. The official launch isn't until October 1, 2014. But, the basic way it will work is:

 

1) Make a video of yourself sharing your voice in any form you choose.... your creation, your story, your laugh, whatever.

 

2)Send me the Youtube link or the video via my email @mdockery20005@gmail.com and I will post it here and share it via all of my social media networking sites.

 

3)Watch, Comment, Share on other people's videos.  Help others get heard. 

 

In addition to videos sent in, I will be doing special Heart to Heart interview sessions starting 2015, with my fellow musician/artist friends from around the globe to introduce you to their work and have them share a bit about why they do what they do.

I'm very excited about this project!  I hope you are too.  And, I hope you will participate.  Help me spread the word!!  Everyone should be heard.  There are 7Billion voices, but yours DOES matter!
